Rod Harvey returns to form at Brisbane Winternationals
New Zealand drag racer and Yuasa Batteries affiliate Rod Harvey returned to Australia this week to compete in this year’s Brisbane Winternationals. With nearly two years of no major drag events in Australia, Rod and the team were keen to compete with his Yuasa Batteries branded Camry.
Harvey’s first race of the 2021 campaign was the previous month down at the Sydney Jamboree, where he was able to pull in second place for the six-cylinder sport compact class.
With only a few weeks of training under his belt, the team were able to pull through constant 5sec in the quarter mile throughout the weekend of racing and was once again was able to hit the 260mph mark.
Harvey’s sights are set on improving his raking among the world’s fastest compact drag racers. Harvey currently ranks as the fourth quickest, behind international competitors from US, Puerto Ric and Middle East racers.
