Rod Harvey gears up for Sydney Jamboree

After being out of action for over a year, New Zealand international drag racer Rod Harvey is gearing up at Sydney drag-way for the 2021 Sydney Jamboree.

Rod and the team are charged up and ready to get back on the track after 13 months without racing. Harvey’s last race was March 2020 at the Sydney Jamboree.

After facing initial difficulties traveling between Australia and New Zealand due to COVID-19 restrictions, the trans-Tasman bubble is now in place, allowing Harvey and the team to reunite with his 3000hp drag car and get it ready for the event.

Harvey will be lining up his turbocharged 2JZ six-cylinder powered Toyota Camry in a 12-car IHRA Pro Mod class, with his sights set on reclaiming his ranking among the world’s fastest Sport Compact drag racers that have exchanged performance increments with him for the last five years.

Following Sydney Jamboree, Rod will prepare for the Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway in June. Yuasa is eager for Rod Harvey’s return to drag racing, and will be there to support him and his team as he gets back behind the driver’s seat for the remaining year of racing.

Sydney Jamboree begins Saturday 22nd of May with tickets available on the day at the gate.
